Men of Valor
There was an era in the history of Israel of great kings and mighty warriors. The greatest of these kings was a man called David. King David was a great warrior, and a man whose heart was totally committed to following God. Although David was far from perfect, he didn’t let his sins keep him from fulfilling his calling. He lived passionately. He led passionately. David served God passionately.
David had a great army. These men conquered every enemy that they encountered. In this army were individuals who stood out men who held the belief that the army of God could not be beaten. Often outnumbered and outsized these mighty men of valor stood up and won great victories.
Today there is a war to win. We no longer fight with swords. There is no more blood to spill. Yet we must find the same strength of character that those ancient warriors had. Believing that the kingdom of God can not be beaten, we must focus on Jesus and set aside our concerns about ourselves doing and saying the stuff Jesus did and said in spite of what those around think. The Holy Spirit is calling us to become men of valor!
