Sometimes I have thoughts but no words to express them. Often I have words with no thoughts behind them.
Sometimes I have vision but no energy to create. Often I work at things for no creative reason.
Days go by with nothing important said or done, Empty words and busy work lull my spirit to sleep.
Sometimes I know why I’m here on earth, and I speak and work to show it. These are the best days, the days I’m really alive.
Peace! Not like the world thinks, but peace from God. To hope to spend your life without any kind of strife is silly.
So if we can’t remove strife, we need to find an inner peace that transcends our issues.
The world offers alcohol, drugs, or the never ending pursuit of personal pleasure as a remedy for life’s pressures.
Jesus offers Himself. A relationship with an ever present friend and helper.
Let’s pause for a moment to remember the slaughter of tens of thousands of turkeys… Isn’t it good to live in a country thay can provide so much food!
Now let’s remember how many people are hungry here in America and around the world. Food banks are largely out of food already. Winter is just beginning.
Pray for the hungry. That they receive food and nourishment and experience God’s love poured out through the kindness of people like you sharing resource.
Consider easing up on Christmas gift spending so you can share more with people in need in your city and around the world.
This morning I woke up in no hurry and with no where to go. I spent some time talking to God. More importantly I spent some time listening to Him.
Life moves fast. For most of us life moves too fast. We are unskilled in the art of being still in God’s presence. We are unskilled in the art of staying full of His Spirit.
Our hearts are like gold they must be put into fire to purify them, they must heated to reshape them. The raw gold of our hearts are valuable but refined gold is best.
Spend some time in God’s presence today. Start a new habit of being refined daily. You are valuable to Him and He will make you more refined.
I will sing praise to my Lord with all my heart. I will tell of all your wonders. I will be glad and rejoice in you.
From my rising to my resting again I will hope in you. You alone are my strength and my protector.
You bring blessing to my home and increase my resource. Without you Lord I would have nothing.
All that I am and all that I ever hope to be is in you, my Lord, my savior, my king.
